Features of Living Things:
Movement
All living things move on their own in some way. This may be obvious, such as animals that are able to walk, or less obvious, such as plants that have parts that move to track the movement of the sun.
Respiration
All living things need to use the things in the air to respirate and survive. This occurs through a chemical reaction that happens within cells to release energy from food.
Sensitivity
All living things are aware of the things around them and have the ability to detect changes in the surrounding environment and respond to these changes.
Growth
All living things grow.
Reproduction
All living things have the ability to reproduce and pass genetic information onto their offspring.
Excretion
All living things get rid of waste.
Nutrition
All living things intake and use nutrients. This occurs in very different ways in different kinds of living things.
